About the Artist:

It’s all about baskets! There are tall baskets, small baskets, as well as, trays and wall hangings. Every basket begins with a base constructed from a hand carved or painted gourd, a vibrant colored agate slice or a piece of driftwood that was found along a riverbank. The base may be embellished with turquoise inlay, tree bark or perhaps, copper wire. The base is then crowned with an intricate weaving of pine needles, woven into place one needle at a time. Some weavings take 30 or 40 hours to complete. A basket may be further embellished with feathers, an antique silver pin or  even horsehair.
